Abstract

. In recent years, research on resonant inductive coupling wireless power transmission (WPT) systems has been dominant for use in wireless chargers due to their flexibility and particular use compared to conventional cable charging systems. This paper presents a simulation study of the effect of changing the copper wire cross-section i.e. circular and rectangular cross-section wire on the coil’s parameters. Two types of compensation topologies SS (series-series ) and SP (series-parallel) are used for symmetrical and unsymmetrical coils The theoretical analysis and modeling of both compensation topologies were carried out and each time the impact on the efficiency of energy transmission was determined. The result shows that the SP topology offers better efficiency than the SS when Tx and Rx are asymmetrical.
