Abstract

Under voltage load shedding has been ‎considered as one of the effective strategies to prevent voltage collapse. Usually, the loads being modelled as constant power types, while different load models are used in load flow studies. In this paper, a study of optimal load shedding with a comparison ‎and assessment between two load flow methods: Newton Raphson and Backward-Forward considering miscellaneous models of the load is present for a distribution power system. The Dolphin optimization algorithm is ‎applied to offer a refinement in the voltage values of buses and losses reduction. A comprehensive comparison and assessment have been ‎accomplished among the optimization performances for ‎four diverse load shedding models constant power, constant ‎current, constant impedance, and composite ZIP models under health and fault ‎cases of the system to decide the model ‎that provides the most improvement in the voltage profile and loss reduction using MATLAB program‎.‎
