Abstract

Accuracy, understood as a principle of data protection law (Art 5(d) GDPR), has received timid attention in EU legal scholarship so far. This short paper suggests why accuracy deserves more attention in data protection studies, having regard to its conceptualisation, its role as a principle of data processing in the GDPR and the other principles of data processing, and the possible risks of data subjects’ misrepresentation and discrimination.
